Abstract

Web application performance testing is important because modern web systems must handle many simultaneous users, dynamic requests, database transactions, API calls, authentication processes, and server-side operations without delay or failure. Poor performance can lead to slow page loading, failed transactions, server overload, user dissatisfaction, and business loss, especially when web applications operate under peak traffic conditions. Apache JMeter provides a practical testing environment for simulating user load, measuring response time, evaluating throughput, identifying bottlenecks, and analyzing system behavior under different workload levels. This article focuses on web application performance testing using Apache JMeter by examining load testing, stress testing, endurance testing, request sampling, thread group configuration, response time analysis, and server performance monitoring. The study discusses how JMeter-based testing can help detect performance weaknesses before deployment and support better capacity planning. The article concludes that structured performance testing with Apache JMeter can improve web application reliability, scalability, user experience, and release confidence.
